  • Josh Epstein

    Leo Frank
    Josh Epstein's work as a writer, producer and actor has taken him all over the world. Recently he wrote Astrid’s Deathlist for Paramount Pictures, a medieval thriller comedy in collaboration with Good Question Media and Elevation, and a re-imagining of Youngblood with Aircraft Pictures. He has re-written multiple studio features, EP’d both film and TV and is currently developing television, all with partner Kyle Rideout. Their last film Adventures in Public School stars Judy Greer, premiered at TIFF, opened TIFF Top Ten with theatricals in CDN/US/UK/JPN before landing on Netflix, Crave, and HBO. Eadweard, their first film won 5 Audience Choice Awards, had 15 Leo nominations and has been distributed around the world.

    He is the producer facilitator for the National Screen Institute, a mentor for the Whistler Film Festival producer’s lab, Telus Storyhive and he’s hosted panels for VIFF, WFF and Women in Film, recently directed the series finale of an upcoming short form series The Dressing Room, and won the Ovation Award for directing Cabaret at Studio 58. @joshepstein1

  • Miranda MacDougall

    Lucille Frank
    Miranda MacDougall (she/her) is a Jessie award- nominated actor and writer, as well as an award winning film director and producer. With a BFA in Acting from the University of Windsor, Miranda has trained and performed across Canada and the United States. Select stage credits: The Sound of Music, Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain Christmas Carol (The Arts Club, Vancouver) Of Mice and Men (Unit 102, Toronto), In Response to Alabama (Pi Theatre) City of Angels (PIT Collective), and her original one woman show Glassjaw. Miranda works regularly as an actor in film and television, with some exciting releases on the horizon. As a film director, she has written and directed a slew of narrative works, music videos and commercials, recently co-producing and directing the feature documentary “In The Land of Dreamers” for CBC’s Absolutely Canadian program. Miranda is grateful to be working and living on the unceded and ancestral territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Stó:lō and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) First Nations.

  • Zac Bellward

    Frankie/Young Soldier

    From a young age, it was clear Zac Bellward would pursue a career in the performing arts as he found the most joy in entertaining / annoying those around him. Growing up in Edmonton, Alberta, he attended Victoria School of the Arts where he further developed his passion starring in shows such as Beauty and The Beast, West Side Story, Shrek the Musical, and In the Heights.

    Zac is now based on the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations. He is a recent graduate of the acting program at Studio 58, where he portrayed Dr. Frank-N-Furter in a career defining performance in their production of The Rocky Horror Show directed by the one and only Josh Epstein. Zac is also a recipient of the Sydney Risk award. Upon graduation, Zac was thrilled to fly to Italy to play Leopold in Sony's upcoming musical feature Verona, starring Jamie Ward, Rebel Wilson, Jason Isaacs and Rupert Everett. Making his Raincity debut, Zac is honoured to be a part of this historic yet deeply relevant show and to share the stage with this immensely talented cast and crew.

  • Tainui Kuru

    Britt Craig/Governor Slaton
    Tainui is an actor, singer, musician of indigenous Maori descent from New Zealand. He studied a Bachelor in Music Theatre at the National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Art in New Zealand, earning the degree prize for outstanding achievement and commitment to studies. Musical theatre highlights include lead roles in Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, H.M.S Pinafore, Cats, Grease, Guys and Dolls and Saturday Night Fever. Acting highlights include Much Ado About Nothing, Groundswell: Stories from the Quake, and a national tour of Four Flat Whites in Italy.

    Tainui has performed as both a solo vocalist and with his band, 'Modern Maori Quartet' for audiences as far as Australia, England, Scotland, USA, Japan, South Korea and China. Tai moved to Vancouver in January 2020 and he has since toured Canada wide with ‘Music of the Night’, songs of Andrew Lloyd Webber and ‘Relive the Music’, Hits of the 50’s and 60’s. He was most recently on stage in Gateway Theatre's production of Cinderella. Parade marks Tai’s debut with Raincity. You can also catch him in ‘Ring of Fire’ with the Arts Club at the Granville Island stage this summer.

    Alina is thrilled to be making her Raincity Theatre debut as Mary Phagan in PARADE. Previous theatre credits include Anne of Green Gables (Gateway Theatre), A Christmas Story (Align Entertainment), and Shrek, The Musical (Align Entertainment).   • Ivy Charles

    Newt Lee
    Ivy Charles (she/her) hails from Winnipeg, MB - Treaty 1 Territory, homeland of the Métis Nation. She is now based in Vancouver, BC, on the traditional, ancestral and unceded territory of the Coast Salish Peoples - Squamish, Tsleil-Waututh and Musqueam Nations. Select theatre credits include: Beautiful: The Carole King Musical (Arts Club), In My Day (Zee Zee Theatre Company), Beautiful Man (Pi Theatre) which landed her a Jessie nomination for Outstanding Lead, Orlando (RMTC), East Van Panto: Pinocchio (Theatre Replacement) and A Chorus Line, Urinetown, Antony and Cleopatra and Cabaret (Studio 58). Ivy is a graduate of Studio 58’s acting program. She was the Head Coordinator of the Diversity Committee and then the Head Facilitator the following year. Ivy was awarded the Hnatyshyn Developing Artists Grant (English Theatre) 2019 while attending Studio 58. Ivy was last seen on stage as Ronette in Little Shop of Horrors (Arts Club) where she and her cast mates won the Ovation Award for Outstanding Ensemble and you can see her next in Hamlet and Twelfth Night at Bard on the Beach this summer!     Hugh Dorsey

    Warren was born in South Africa. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Warren has performed extensively in the UK, Europe, and South Africa. He has been seen locally in Mamma Mia (Bill), Merchant of Venice (Shylock), Fiddler on the Roof (Tevye), Billy Elliot (Dad), Les Miserables (Javert), My Fair Lady (Henry Higgins), Mary Poppins (Mr. Banks), Next to Normal (Dan), Tuesdays with Morrie (Mitch), Sweeney Todd (Sweeney Todd).   • Alexis Hope

    Minnie McKnight/Angela
    Making her Raincity debut, Alexis is grateful to be able to share this relevant and impactful story with audiences, alongside this immensely talented cast and crew. Her recent theatre credits include Monster (Direct Theatre Collective), The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical (CTORA), Thy Neighbour's Wife (United Players), and The Importance of Being Earnest (UBC Players Club). Originally from Calgary and a VanArts Acting for Film & Television alum, she’s an advocate for more representation of Black joy in media and the co-founder and executive producer of Girls That Giggle Productions. Alexis is also an aspiring playwright and director. One of her plays will be featured in the Women At Play(s) 6 Festival in Toronto, and under the mentorship of Cristiana Zachau, she worked as an assistant director on Exact Resemblance Theatre’s production of Constellations. She would like to thank her family and friends for encouraging her to explore and create all kinds of art.

    Ricardo studied acting at the University of Winnipeg, Prairie Theatre Exchange, and Vancouver Film School. He’s a music producer, singer songwriter, and film composer. Ricardo won a best supporting actor CTC for his portrayal of Jim Conley and Riley in Fighting Chances Parade. Ricardo is excited to get back into the musical theatre world with a bang, helming once again the role of Jim Conley and Riley. Ricardo hopes you love the music in Parade as much as he does!

    Stephen graduated from Studio 58 and has worked in theatre, film, radio, TV, and opera for forty-odd years. Some of this century’s credits include Kris Kringle in Miracle on 34th Street for Theatre NorthWest, The Gaza Monologues with 2 Rivers 4 Palestine in Prince George, Tom in Seventeen for Western Gold, Peachum in The Threepenny Opera for Theatre In The Raw, Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof for the Chemainus, Western Canada, and Persephone theatres, Judge Turpin in the award-winning Snapshots Collective production of Sweeney Todd, Zeus in Ann Mortifee’s opera The Mysteries, Uncle Vince in People Like Vince (and, last century, Victor in Not So Dumb and Night Light) for Green Thumb, and TV/film appearances on Bau: Artist at War, The Man in the High Castle, The L Word, and Supernatural. He’s delighted to be working with his Raincity colleagues on this exciting project. 

  • Richard Newman

    Luther Ross/Ivey
    Richard Newman is extremely happy to be working with these fabulous folks on this marvellous project.  In a career spanning more than 50 years, he has played such varied roles as Shylock, Roy Cohn, Otto Frank, Jesus Christ and Billy the Kid, among many others.  Television and film credits include The X Files, Supernatural, Ice and, most recently, So Help Me Todd.  Younger audience members might recognize him as the voice of Franklin the Turtle's Father.  He has sung in bands, in choirs and as a solo “ folkie”.  It has been, and continues to be, a very satisfying life!

    Madison is thrilled to be a part of Raincity Theatre's production of Parade! Madison’s career has taken her across the globe as a Vocalist, Dancer, and Actor with Disney Cruise Line and the Shanghai Disney Resort. Additionally, she has performed locally as Rosie in Tomo Suru’s production of Cabaret (2017), as well as Fiona in Align Entertainment’s production of Shrek the Musical (2020). Madison trained at the Caulfield School of Dance in multiple disciplines, studied voice under Dr. Gina Oh and Peter Jorgensen, and has a certificate in acting from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has the pleasure of teaching many aspiring performers at the Caulfield School of Dance and is currently choreographing Gleneagle Secondary’s spring production of Mamma Mia.

    Vuk (He/They) is a Serbian-Canadian Actor and Artist born and raised in “Vancouver” on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Since graduating from Studio 58 in 2021, Vuk’s work has spanned both the stage and screen, with a focus on movement based projects.     Tanner Zerr (he/him) is an actor, singer, and musician. Tanner is a graduate of Studio 58 where he received his Diploma of Performing Arts in Spring 2021, as well as the Carol Chrisjohn Scholarship for demonstrating passion and joy in the art of theatre. Tanner is also a recent recipient of the 2022 E.V. Young Award for Outstanding Performance at Theatre Under the Stars, the 2023 OVATION Award for Outstanding Newcomer, as well as a nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Lead at the 2024 OVATION Awards. Some of Tanner’s recent work includes WE WILL ROCK YOU—Theatre Under the Stars, THREE LITTLE PIGS—Carousel Theatre, THE TROLL GRANDFATHER—Axis Theatre, and MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET–Arts Club.   • Chris Adams

    Director/Producer

    Chris holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from The University of Victoria and studied Musical Theatre in New York City with Circle in the Square Theater School. He is the co-Artistic Managing Director of Raincity Theatre. His production of Sweeney Todd won 4 Ovation Awards and 4 Jessie Awards with Chris being nominated for Outstanding Direction at the Jessies. Company was nominated for 4 Ovation Awards, winning one, and was also nominated for 4 Jessie Awards, again with Chris being nominated for Outstanding Direction. Company proudly picked up 3 Jessie Awards, including Outstanding Production and Outstanding Ensemble for all 14 cast members.  Recently, he directed the Vancouver and Toronto productions of the Wizards Brunch, directed the Kay Meek Youth Conservatory’s productions of Seussical, The Addams Family, High School Musical, & 13: The Musical, plus Rock of Ages with Renegade Productions, and King Arthur, Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, and Snow White with Metro Theatre.  He was also the director of the Ovation award winning Bring On Tomorrow Co production of 13: The Musical at the Waterfront Theatre. Chris has worked for 7 years at the Lindbjerg Academy having directed 16 of their musicals.  Also a successful producer, Chris has produced for such companies as Royal City Musical Theatre, Align Entertainment, The Snapshots Collective, MascallDance, The Impromptu Cabaret Festival, WRS Productions, Presentation House Theatre, and Bring on Tomorrow Co.

  • Nicol Spinola

    Choreographer/Producer
    An award-winning choreographer, Nicol Spinola’s work has been seen on many stages including Arts Club Theatre Company. Chemainus Theatre Festival, Theatre Under the Stars, Gateway Theatre, Capilano University, Align Entertainment and SaskExpress. Nicol is the Co-Managing Artistic Director for Raincity Theatre, whose sold-out productions of Sweeney Todd and Company, won a total of 5 Jessie awards & 3 Ovation awards. Nicol is also a Founding member and Executive Director of Camp Cue - an overnight musical theatre camp for teens. Look for her work in upcoming productions at Western Canada Theatre, The Arts Club Theatre Company and Thousand Island Playhouse.

    Dawn has her B.Mus in Jazz Studies from Capilano University and is a certified teacher in Somatic Voicework™ The LoVetri Method. She is a staple of the Vancouver music scene and can often be found tearin’ it up as a vocalist, pianist, teacher, adjudicator, choir director and “go to girl” for live performances and studio sessions around the world. Dawn is currently hosting her own funk, soul, and r&b show on CKUA Radio.

  • Sean Bayntun

    Musical Director
    A descendent of Ukrainian, Austrian, and British immigrants, Sean grew up, and currently resides, on the ancestral and unceded lands of the hən̓q̓əmin̓əm̓ and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh speaking peoples (Burnaby).

    Having grown up in his father's piano studio, Sean made his orchestral debut at 16 with the White Rock Symphony, and at 18 performed as a soloist with the VSO. He graduated from UBC with a BMus and an MMus from Rice University (Houston) on full scholarship studying with Dr. Jon Kimura Parker, who encouraged him to explore genres beyond classical music.

    Returning to Vancouver in 2006, Sean began music directing and playing in bands, and has co-written several albums and has more than 30 theatre productions worth of experience so far.

    He currently represents 20% of Leisure Club (indie rock/pop) and 50% of DAñSE (improvised electronic dance/prog/jazz). Recent theatre includes Into the Woods (Studio 58), Cinderella (Gateway), and The Prom (TUTS).

    Ryan is a graduate of Queen’s University and studied set and costume design at the National Theatre School of Canada.   • Bronwyn Carradine

    Production Manager
    Bronwyn is thrilled to join the team of Raincity this season after being a fan since the beginning.

    An award-winning writer, director, producer and arts administrator, her stage work has been workshopped, produced and developed by theatre companies across North America. As an artist, much of her work focuses on highlighting Queer joy and representation on stage and screen. As an arts administrator, her focus has been on strengthening community connections and furthering equality & equity for artists.

    She's a graduate of Studio 58, a member of the Playwright's Guild of Canada, and a board member of WetInk Collective. Carradine currently works as the Development Executive for Motion 58 Entertainment, and is the Artistic Managing Producer for Zee Zee Theatre Company.

    In her spare time, you can find her either on the couch with her partner and their cat watching Below Deck, or running in the mountains.

  • June Mirochnick

    Drums and Percussion
    June Mirochnick is a drummer/multi-instrumentalist originally from Winnipeg, MB. They have been playing music professionally since 1990 and have performed, toured, and recorded with numerous artists including Veda Hille, Sarah Jane Scouten, William Prince, Ida Nilsen, Patsy Klein/Tony Wilson 4tet, Neko Case, Christine Fellows, John K. Samson, and many others. They have also performed in many theatre productions as a musician. These include Onegin (Arts Club) ; Do You Want What I Have got? June has also been regular in Theatre Replacement/The Cultch’s- East Van Panto since 2015, having played drums and said some lines in 8 incarnations of the Panto.

  • Katie Stewart

    Viola
    Katie is a Vancouver based musician, and alumni of Capilano University Jazz studies programme, with over 15 years experience in the Vancouver music scene. She is credited for contributions to numerous bands including Spindle!, Madelyn Read and the Petrichorus, and the History of Gunpowder (for which she has toured with internationally). She is a resident fiddler for the Blarney Stone house band, and has played abroad in Nashville, Italy, and the O’Neill’s pub in Dublin, Ireland. She is currently working on recording an album, and playing a Montreal residency in the coming months.

  • Kevin Woo

    Reeds
    Kevin has been involved with the Vancouver & Lower Mainland musical theatre community for over 30 years. An accomplished reed musician, he studied clarinet at UBC’s School of Music and has played in orchestra pits for companies such as RCMT, TUTS, Gateway Theatre, and more.

    When not under the stage or in a ‘pit’, Kevin can be found in Stanley Park, where he works as the General Manager for Theatre Under the Stars, an organization he has been involved with since 1994, starting as a pit musician.

    He is thrilled to be back with Raincity Theatre for Parade, having played for Sweeney Todd and Music Directed Cabaret.

  • Malcolm Francis

    French Horn.
    Research has shown many health benefits to performing (and listening) to music. Malcolm credits his good health and sparkling personality to his music career. He has been performing in theatre orchestras for the past 27+ years with Royal City Musical Theatre, Theatre Under the Stars and Align Entertainment. Performing in musical theatre is his passion and he’s delighted to be playing French Horn in Raincity Theatre’s production of “Parade”.

  • Laine Longton

    Cello
    Laine Longton has been playing cello since the age of 5. She studied at UVic (BMus, 2010), U of I - Urbana Champaign (MMus, 2012), and UBC in the DMA program (ABD).

    Laine’s musical theatre performances include Floyd Collins (PatrickStreet Productions, 2014), A Little Night Music (PSP, 2017), Fun Home (Arts Club Theatre, 2018), It’s A Wonderful Life (Gateway Theatre, 2018), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat (Gateway Theatre, 2019), and Company (Raincity Theatre, 2019). She has also recorded the music for Starwalker (Raven Theatre, 2022), Into the Woods (Studio 58, 2024) and performed at Fringe Festival with Jasper in Deadland (2018).

    Laine currently teaches in Vancouver and plays regularly with Vancouver Opera and is a core member of the Vancouver Island Symphony.
