  • Alex Gullason

    Sally Bowles

    Alex is a Jessie award winning actor, singer and improviser from North Vancouver, BC. She attended the Musical Theatre Program at Capilano University and graduated with honours in 2012. 

    After graduation she was lucky enough to be a part of many incredible productions. Theatre highlights include Sophie in Mamma Mia (Chemainus Theatre), Amy in Company (Raincity Theatre), Sheila in Hair (Renegade), Cool Line XL3/Emily in Broken Sex Doll (Virtual Stage) and Sandy in Grease (Footlight). Film/TV highlights include Schmigadoon S1 (AppleTV), Christmas in Tahoe (Hallmark), Riverdale, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (The CW) and Wilderness (Amazon Prime). Look out for Alex in a recurring role in Schmigadoon S2 premiering in 2023 on Apple TV. 

    Alex is also an improviser and is one half of a two-woman comedy duo called The Dangerous Janes (@thedangerousjanes). She also performs with the mainstage ensemble at the Improv Centre on Granville Island.

    Graham Coffeng is thrilled to be back with Raincity in this dream show and role.     Nick is a Vancouver-based actor, singer, and musician. Selected credits: A Little Night Music / It’s A Wonderful Life (Patrick Street) A Charlie Brown Christmas / The Lion, The Witch, & The Wardrobe (Carousel), The Best Laid Plans (Touchstone/PSP), Avenue Q / Rock of Ages / Fun Home (Arts Club), Beggar’s Opera (Seven Tyrants), The Buddy Holly Story (1000 Islands/WCT), The Master Builder (Yorick), and Company (Raincity). Film & TV credits include Love Guaranteed, Blockbuster, Valley of the Boom, Blue Book, and Supergirl. Nick is a graduate of UBC and Capilano University; a recipient of UBC’s Beatrice Wood Scholarship for Acting and five Ovation Awards and a Jessie Award for outstanding performances.     Caitriona Murphy is an actor and musician originally from Toronto. B.C. credits include: Next to Normal, Mary Poppins, In the Heights, Peter and the Starcatcher, Onegin, Billy Elliot, Once, and The Piano Teacher, (Arts Club Theatre), Elf, (Western Canada Theatre), A Broadway Holiday, Closer Than Ever, (Gateway Theatre) Between the Sheets (Pi Theatre), Les Misérables, Pride and Prejudice (Chemainus Theatre Festival), The Drowsy Chaperone and Mamma Mia! (TUTS), The Spitfire Grill (Pacific Theatre), The Full Monty, Out of a Dream (Patrick Street Productions), A Streetcar Named Desire, The Miracle Worker (Theatre North West), and Marry Me a Little (Speck Theatre). Film and TV credits include Dash and Lily, The Associates, and 2 seasons of Schmigadoon. A singer and violinist, Caitriona has played venues across Canada. Caitriona is an accredited Music Therapist and works in Mental Health and Addiction in Vancouver.

  • Sanders Whiting

    Herr Schultz

    Sanders Whiting has worked in major theatres across Canada and has toured internationally. Selected credits include Forever Plaid (4 productions) and the original production of the Mirvish/Wallace Lord of the Rings. Other’s include Sweeney Todd (Arts Club), Freaks, A Circus Tale with Music (NAC), Reading Hebron (Firehall Theatre) and Fiddler on the Roof (Citadel Theatre). He produced and performed in Sondheim’s Marry Me A Little (twice) and Maltby and Shire’s Starting Here, Starting Now. His favorite voice over appearance was as the historical Wimpy in Lions Gates “Popeye’s Voyage”. As an educator Sanders currently coaches faculty in voice and presentation skills at SFU and taught singing, voice and speech for 7 years at Capilano University. He is a private singing, voice and speech consultant and most recently has been the “Singing Tech” for a Hallmark TV series. As a writer he spent five summer seasons scripting and composing mini-musicals for the Alberta Park System. He is delighted to be performing in the upcoming evening of readings and songs based on Jean Shepherd’s anecdotes The Christmas Story with Vancouver’s Post Modern Camerata. Sanders is proud and excited to be appearing with the dynamic Raincity Theatre company.

Sylvia was honoured to be the English-speaking Announcer at Whistler Medals Plaza during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games and holds a B. Mus in Voice Performance from UBC.     Hannah is straight stoked to be making her Raincity Theatre debut which happens to also be her Musical Theatre debut! And she loves getting to be surrounded by such an incredible cast and team! Some of her favourite live performance credits include: The Smoke Show, Brooklyn Hip Hop festival, Ladies of Hip Hop, Mya and any of the many performances over the years with her powerhouse all-female street dance crew Diamonds In The Rough. Some of her fave film/tv credits include: Grease: RiseOfThePinkLadies, Zoey’s Extraordinary playlist and Christmas Chronicles.   • Hal Wesley Rogers

    After being stranded in Toronto for the pandemic, Hal is excited to return to the Vancouver stage with Raincity Theatre! A BFA graduate from SFU, his last show in town was 2016’s A Charlie Brown Christmas at Carousel Theatre for Young People. Since then he’s performed across Canada including originating an ensemble role as a worker in the Canadian premiere of Hadestown before it became a Tony Award winning hit on Broadway. Vancouver highlights: The Best Laid Plans (Patrick Street/Touchstone) Jesus Christ Superstar, Rent & Hair (Fighting Chance Productions) Dreamgirls (Arts Club). Elsewhere: Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story (Western Canada/Thousand Islands Playhouse), The Music Man (Thousand Islands Playhouse), Hairspray, Sister Act, Mamma Mia (Mayfield Dinner Theatre), The Rocky Horror Show (Magnus) Cinderella (The Globe). Hal is also an aspiring writer/composer and participated in the Musical Stage Company’s Noteworthy program and was also recognized as a Citadel Theatre RBC Horizon Emerging artist. In 2021 he contributed original music to a Digital Calgary Fringe show called Reflect In. Up next, in the new year he’ll be performing in Jersey Boys at the Citadel.

  • Oliver Castillo

    Since his professional debut in 2015, Oliver has worked in the community with companies such as Arts Club, Gateway Theatre, Carousel Theatre and Chemainus Theatre Festival to name a few. He has gone on to win a Jessie Richardson award for his role in Raincity Theatre’s production of Sweeney Todd, and has also been nominated previously for his role in The Arts Club’s Hand To God.

    Oliver recently returned from working with Disney Cruise Lines as a Mainstage Performer. Along with his work in theatre, Oliver owns his own puppet building business; Borzboy Puppets.

    Cassandra is thrilled to be making her Raincity Theatre debut in this fantastic show. Her previous theatre credits include: Something Rotten! (Theatre Under The Stars); 9 to 5 (Citadel Theatre);  Fun Home(Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre); Matilda(Arts Club/Citadel/Royal MTC); West Side Story, Annie, Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins (Rainbow Stage). Film and TV credits include: Schmigadoon!, Strawberry Shortcake, Charmed, Channel Zero, Riverdale. She also spent a few years of her career as a lead performer onboard with Disney Cruise Line. Upcoming credits: Teenage Dick (Arts Club/ Bard on the Beach).

    Nevada is delighted to perform a bucket list role in her all time favorite show with this fabulous company of artists. A lifelong Vancouverite, she is a graduate of the Canadian College of Performing Arts, Langara College, and Capilano University. Some favorite past credits include: Robin Hood (Lakeside Players), The Violin (Peach Street Productions); Art Heist (In-Stride); Amelie (West Moon); Little Miss Glitz (TooFly); The Exquisite Hour (Relephant); Lost Souls of Gastown (Forbidden Vancouver); Tony and Tina's Wedding (Hoarse Raven); Off The Rails (Fort Steele); The Secret Garden (Gateway); The Baker’s Wife (Applause); Footloose (TUTS); Hello Dolly (Chemainus). From the comfort of your home you may have caught her dancing across your screen in Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist (NBC) or Riverdale (CW) and soon you may spot her cutting a rug in Grease: Rise of The Pink Ladies (Paramount Plus).  When she’s not performing Nevada teaches fitness and movement and can be found at movewithnevada.com and nevadabankscreative.com. The past couple of years have been tough for performing artists and she would like to thank her husband and cats (Miso & Ramen) for putting up with her ennui while she waited for the return of live theatre.   • Steffanie Davis

    After more than two years of anticipation, Steffanie is thrilled to finally be sharing this story with Vancouver audiences! Steffanie is a Vancouver-based actor, singer & dancer. When she isn't performing in theatre she can be found singing at various venues around the city or acting in Film & TV. Over the last few years, Steffanie has created and curated her solo jazz show "My Old Flame" with four sold-out shows at Seven Tyrants! Look for the next performance upcoming this January. This year she was part of the 2022 cohort of the Arts Club Theatre’s Acting Intensive Program as well as an ongoing training at Haven Studio with Ben Immanuel. Recently she played the Killer Queen this summer in We Will Rock You the musical at Theatre Under The Stars.     This is Madeleine’s third time joining Raincity (previously performing in Company and designing makeup for Sweeney Todd), and she is honoured to be included on such an iconic and pertinent show. Madeleine is a Vancouver-based singer/dancer/actor/makeup artist, and a graduate of Capilano University’s Musical Theatre Program and Decidedly Jazz Dance Works’ Professional Training Program.   • Sierra Brewerton

    Sierra Brewerton works internationally as a dancer, actor and singer. This year, Sierra was the associate director/choreographer on Grease (Axelrod Performing Arts Center) as well as Assistant Resident Choreographer/Swing on the 2nd UK tour of Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical. Other select credits include Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 The Musical (West End and 1st UK And Ireland Tour - Dance Captain), Turandot and The Merry Widow (Vancouver Opera - Dance Captain), Beauty And The Beast, Mamma Mia, and Mary Poppins (Arts Club Theatre Company), Anne Of Green Gables (Theatre Calgary), and Beauty And The Beast (Neptune Theatre).     Tiana is a musical theatre, voiceover, and film/TV performer with her BFA in Drama/Music Theatre from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts (2020).  Select theatre credits: Sansanee in Pregnancy Pact, Jenny in Legs, Angel in Celebration (NYU), Jaylene Darlene in Little Miss Glitz (Too Fly Productions, Ovation! Award nomination), Lucius in The Light & Delightful Musical Comedy of Titus Andronicus (Awkward Stage Productions), First Spirit in The Magic Flute (Vancouver Opera), and Wednesday in The Addams Family (HWSS Theatre).  Select voiceover credits: series regular in an upcoming AdultSwim cartoon, Matchbox Adventures on Hot Wheels’ YouTube channel, 16 Hudson (TVOKids), and Nina’s World (PBS Kids Sprout).  She is also a Royal Academy of Dance trained ballerina and well-rounded dancer and singer of multiple genres.   • Vicente Sandoval

    Vicente is absolutely thrilled to be joining Raincity Theatre in this amazing production in his first role as a swing! A Mexico City native, he graduated from Sheridan College’s Musical Theatre-Performance Program and was part of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines as a Production Cast Singer for several years. More recently, he completed the Arts Club’s Actor’s Intensive Program and has since been part of various productions around the city. He was last seen this past summer in the Theatre Under the Stars production of Something Rotten! Other credits include Kismet in Concert Style (RCMT), Comedy of Tenors (Metro Theatre), Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi (Opera Mariposa) and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat  (Gateway Theatre).   • Chris Adams

    Director/Producer

    Chris holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre from The University of Victoria and studied Musical Theatre in New York City with Circle in the Square Theater School. He is the co-Artistic Managing Director of Raincity Theatre. His production of Sweeney Todd won 4 Ovation Awards and 4 Jessie Awards with Chris being nominated for Outstanding Direction at the Jessies. Company was nominated for 4 Ovation Awards, winning one, and was also nominated for 4 Jessie Awards, again with Chris being nominated for Outstanding Direction. Company proudly picked up 3 Jessie Awards, including Outstanding Production and Outstanding Ensemble for all 14 cast members.  Recently, he directed the Vancouver and Toronto productions of the Wizards Brunch, directed the Kay Meek Youth Conservatory’s productions of Seussical, The Addams Family, High School Musical, & 13: The Musical, plus Rock of Ages with Renegade Productions, and King Arthur, Alice in Wonderland, A Christmas Carol, and Snow White with Metro Theatre.  He was also the director of the Ovation award winning Bring On Tomorrow Co production of 13: The Musical at the Waterfront Theatre. Chris has worked for 7 years at the Lindbjerg Academy having directed 16 of their musicals.  Also a successful producer, Chris has produced for such companies as Royal City Musical Theatre, Align Entertainment, The Snapshots Collective, MascallDance, The Impromptu Cabaret Festival, WRS Productions, Presentation House Theatre, and Bring on Tomorrow Co.

  • Nicol Spinola

    Choreographer/Producer

    An award-winning choreographer, Nicol Spinola’s work has been seen on many stages including Chemainus Theatre Festival, Align Entertainment, Theatre Under the Stars, Gateway Theatre and Capilano University. Nicol is the Co-Managing Artistic Director for Raincity Theatre, whose sold-out productions of Sweeney Todd and Company, won a total of 5 Jessie awards & 3 Ovation awards. Nicol is also the Founding Director of Camp Cue - an overnight musical theatre camp for teens.   • Kevin Woo

    Musical Director
    Kevin has been involved with the Vancouver & Lower Mainland musical theatre community for over 30 years. An accomplished reed musician, he studied clarinet at UBC’s School of Music and has played in orchestra pits for companies such as RCMT, TUTS, Gateway Theatre, and more. As a Music Director, Kevin has been fortunate enough to work on Annie and Shrek The Musical with Align Entertainment as well as a personal project/fundraiser producing a one night performance of Lin Manuel Miranda’s 21 Chump Street. When not under the stage or in a ‘pit’, Kevin can be found in Stanley Park, where he works as the General Manager for Theatre Under the Stars, an organization he has been involved with since 1994, starting as a pit musician. He is thrilled to be back with Raincity Theatre for Cabaret, having playing for their production of Sweeney Todd. Much gratitude to Chris & Nicol for the opportunity to work with such an amazing team show!

  • Robert Sondergaard

    Lighting & Set Designer/Producer

    Over the past 25 years Robert has worked as a designer in all genres of the entertainment industry. Recent theatre credits include Something Rotten & We Will Rock You (TUTS), Everybody (Studio 58), Shrek The Musical (Align Entertainment), American Idiot (URP), Cabaret (RCMT) and Mamma Mia (The Arts Club). He has won 3 Ovation Awards for Outstanding Lighting Design with 8 nominations and has been nominated for 2 Jessie Awards.

    In dance, Robert’s has worked with numerous dance companies around the world including Kidd Pivot, Ballet BC, Radical System Art, Company 605, Nederlands Dans Theatre, Royal Swedish Ballet, and Luzern Theatre. His work with Crystal Pite on A Picture of You Falling was nominated for a Knights of Illumination Award.

    As a production designer, Robert has focused on international televised sporting events and large-scale music festivals.   • Donnie Tejani

    Costume/Hair/Make-up Designer
    Donnie Tejani is a Jessie Award winning costume designer as well as the sole proprietor of his costume shop and rental house "In The Wings Costume Co." built alongside his mentor, Christina Sinosich. Having built his career in musical theatre, he found himself dressing on the wardrobe and wig teams on the last seven Stanley musicals with the Arts Club and has recently shifted his focus to costume design. Donnie is also a wig stylist working primarily in the drag scene under the title, “OMGwigs” where his work has been featured on the runway of Canada's Drag Race and all over the world.

Philomena has been a professional stage manager in Vancouver for over 20 years working in Dance, Theatre, and Live Events. Notable credits include Something Rotten, TUTS; Betroffenheit, Kidd Pivot/Electric Company; Romeo and Juliet, Ballet BC; 5 seasons for Align Entertainment; Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret, URP; 2010 Vancouver Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Patrick Roberge Productions. Philomena is grateful to live and work on the traditional and unceded lands of the Kwikwetlem, Katzie, Musqueam, Sto:lo, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh First Nations.
